The information shared here is based on my experiences when
I was with the company. I know the information can be a
little outdated, so please feel free to share your comments
below.
Formerly known as Ambergris Solutions, I started working for
this company back in November of 2004.
The site was in Discovery Suites, Pasig, in front of "Podium".
Offer was P12,500 per month as a customer service rep in a
DELL customer service account. For the first month (back in
2004) you will only be paid half (P6500.00). So imagine around
3k per payday. Reason is that they don't have an employment
bond. The other half will be given to you on your 6th month
in the company. Very crappy deal. But since I only used to be
a service crew @ Kenny Rogers, this was more than enough for
me. Eventually, I got the other half on my 6th month, but was
taxed down to around 3500. Salary is every 15 days. Sat-Sun
paydays fall on a Friday. Monday is still Monday.
During that time, appraisals (salary increases) happen annually.
Increases depend on your performance. Best you can get at
that time (if i remember it right) is around a P250.00 for an
average performing agent
Salary disputes every now and then. In my entire call center
life, i think this company had the most frequent number of
wrong salary computations (not in your favor). I certainly hope
that has changed.
In my time, they had something that they called a "24pt
Baileen System" In which for every late, or absence, NCNS, or
over-break, a corresponding point or number of points will be
deducted. They say that in the event that you reach 0 points,
you are out. But i remember reaching -140 (yes, i was a bad
agent) but was still very much alive and kicking. The points
can be earned in a vary of ways, if i remember properly, and
they naturally get refreshed after the third month.
If an account dissolves or gets pulled out, they transfer agents
to another account so you still have a job.
Best parties ever. Town hall parties, x-mas parties, etc. Account
specific parties depend on the "client". There are lots of chap
ass clients too. The only company i have ever seen to throw a
party with overflowing booze and food with waitresses dressed
in Mardi Gras/ Rio themes (2 piece with feathers on the head)
walking around serving booze. Also the only company that
strictly observes the "Octoberfest" and gives out free beer IN THE
COMPANY PANTRY, a few meters away from your workstation.
Drink at your own risk. You can drink, just not drink too much
that you'll act like bestfriends to the person ur talking to on the
phone.
2004, they gave everyone a company phone to be yours in 2
years with a P300.00 postpaid line. They also used to give
Friday treats, a special token or gift (snooze pillows, soap,
umbrella, pouch, bags, etc.) to be given to everyone every
Friday. I don't know if they still have it.
Systems. Depends on the account. Dell systems used to be
frequently down. In discovery suites (2004-2005), bulk-ass CRT
monitors, ball-mouse and AVAYAs as big as a size-12 basketball
shoebox with a huge-ass "release" button just right beside the
same sized "mute" button. That's why an "ooops" would always
happen. Headsets were second-hand smelly ones. Mine had
lipstick on the foam of the mouthpiece (yuck), You connect it
to the AVAYA with 2 huge prongs at the end of the cord, that
looked like you can easily kill someone with.it. Tootoot badges
most of the time doesn't really mean anything, you can come
in without an ID. (2004-2005 Discovery Suites site)
Culture. Everyone first name basis. Open-door policy. Work hard
- play hard. EOP (English only policy) not necessary.
Backpay is a friggin 3 or more months after all accountabilities
have been settled and cleared.
TELUS sites - CUBAO, PASIG/ORTIGAS, MARKET MARKET, TAGUIG.

This is all for now. I want to be as informative as possible so if
anyone sees this and has a more recent experience of the
good and the bad, please feel free to share. This post will be
updated from time to time.
**I wrote this with the intention to share my experiences in
working for this company, for others who may want
a bit more information from someone who's "been there".**
